NetEnt launches Virtual Reality Slot
Exciting news from the Virtual Reality world abut a new NetEnt slot game. It’s been confirmed in an official press release that NetEnt will be launching their very first virtual reality slot. The leading Swedish game provider wants to keep up with the demands of the online gaming industry and join the ranks of VR games developers. After designing the VR slot, based on their famous game ‘Gonzo’s Quest’, the company is committed to releasing it to the online market.
Online casinos are plenty, and the players are constantly in the lookout for new things to try. Hence tapping into the steadily growing market of VR casino games is NetEnt’s way of ensuring they keep up with the trends of online gaming.
Expectations High
Expectations with NetEnt games are obviously high. The technology they have chosen to use for this game design is WebVR, which is part of JavaScript API software. This tool provides access to VR headsets. VR headsets are still a work in progress, but Netent is confident they’ll be ready for use in VR games in 2017/2018. Gonzo’s Quest is one of NetEnt’s flagship games. The company hope to add it to their multi-platform offer and distribute it using their current casino module. ICE Totally Gaming at ExCeL London already showcased the first prototype in February 2017.
CEO of NetEnt, Per Eriksson has commented on the yet-to-be-released game by highlighting the research and trends that are pointing in the direction of virtual reality as a part of future of online gaming.
